Many children are picky about what they eat, leaving parents frustrated on a daily basis. When summer rolls around, parents experiment with different BBQ foods to see what children enjoy. Delicious BBQ Burger ingredients:
• 9 ounces ground beef
• 1 garlic clove, crushed
• 3 tablespoons sunflower oil
• 1 medium red onion, chopped
• 2 to 3 tablespoons tomato chutney
• 1 to 2 tablespoons flour, for dusting
• ½ teaspoon thyme leaves
• 2 slices of white bread with crusts removed
• 6 hamburger buns
• Mixing spoon
• Food processor
Step 1: Sauté onion in 1 tablespoon oil until soft, approximately 5 to 6 minutes. Add thyme and garlic and cook for 1 minute. Tear bread into pieces and place it and the onion mixture in the food processor, blitzing them together.
Step 2: Transfer the mixture to the bowl and stir in the remaining ingredients. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 3: Dust hands with flower and form mixture to make 6 burgers.
Step 4: Use remaining sunflower oil to grease the grill rack. Cook burgers on medium hot heat until cooked through, approximately 5 minutes on each side.
Step 5: Place burgers on buns and serve with ketchup, mustard, and condiments. If you can get kids to add lettuce, tomato, and pickles to their burgers, go for it!
Grilled Fruit Kabob with Yogurt Honey Lime Dip ingredients:
• 2 pounds fruit, peeled, seeded, and chunked (such as pineapple, strawberries, kiwi, and mango)
• 1 cup plain yogurt
• 8 bamboo or metal skewers
• 2 tablespoons honey
• 1 teaspoon lime zest, grated
• Mixing spoon
Step 1: Heat grill to medium-high temperature.
Step 2: Thread chunks of fruit onto the skewers. Soak bamboo skewers in water for 10 minutes to decrease chance of burning.
Step 3: Prepare dip by combining lime zest, honey, and yogurt in the bowl and stirring until well blended. Chill until serving.
Step 4: Grill skewered fruit for 3 or 4 minutes per side, carefully turning the skewers to prevent fruit from falling off.
Step 4: Remove skewers from heat. Serve skewered fruit with the chilled dip.
