• 1 small onion, chopped finely
• ¾ cup breadcrumbs
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 3 tablespoons sour cream
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
• 1/8 teaspoon pepper
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
Optional Sauce Ingredients:
• 6 tablespoons mayonnaise
• 3 teaspoons lime juice
• 2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning
• a few dashes of hot sauce
Making Grilled Crab Cakes
Step 1: Combine the ingredients above in a medium-sized mixing bowl. With hands, form mixture into 4 or 5 patties. Place the patties in a shallow dish, cover the dish, and refrigerate the patties for one hour or more.
Step 2: Prepare the optional sauce by mixing sauce ingredients together in a small bowl until they are well-combined. Cover the bowl and refrigerate until serving, up to 48 hours.
Step 3: When ready to cook the patties, lightly oil the grill grate and preheat the grill to medium-high.
Step 4: Grill patties for 10 minutes, turning them once during cooking. Remove from heat, place each patty on top of some salad or between two pieces of bread, add a dollop of the optional sauce to each patty, and serve immediately after removing from the heat.
