Recipe For Grilled Cowboy Steak And Melt-In-Your-Mouth Whiskey Butter

If you cannot get enough of BBQ steak, we know you will love this recipe. It is an easy way to prepare bone-in ribeye steaks on the grill. While the steaks are grilling, sit back with a cool drink and enjoy the aroma. Within less than an hour from start to finish, you will have four servings of perfectly grilled steaks topped with a unique whiskey butter.

Ingredients for Whiskey Butter:

• 2 sticks of unsalted butter
• 3 teaspoons parsley, minced
• 3 teaspoons whiskey
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
• ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
• 2 whiskey-soaked shallots
• White ground pepper, to taste
• Bowl
• Spoon
• Waxed paper
• Plastic wrap

Step 1: Combine the parsley, shallots, butter, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, whiskey, pepper, and salt in the bowl and mix ingredients well with the spoon.

Step 2: Drop spoonfuls of butter onto the waxed paper.

Step 3: Roll the waxed paper in the plastic wrap. Smooth the package to create a round log. Refrigerated the package at least 3 hours so it will be hard, yet easy to cut.

Note: Can be refrigerated for a week or frozen for 3 months.

Ingredients for Cowboy Steak:

• 2 one-inch thick (approximately 1 pound each) ribeye bone-in steaks
• 1 tablespoon chipotle chile powder
• 1 tablespoon chile powder
• 1 tablespoon turbinado sugar
• ½ tablespoon white pepper
• ½ tablespoon smoked paprika
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 2 slices of Whiskey butter (prepared above)
• Cooking oil
• Basting brush
• Paper towels
• Bowl

Step 1: Prepare the rub by combining the paprika, two chile powders, sugar, and black and white peppers in the bowl.

Step 2: Heat grill to medium-high and allow 20 minutes for the steaks to come to room temperature.

Step 3: Remove excess moisture from meat by patting it with paper towels. Brush steaks with cooking oil immediately before grilling. Sprinkle some salt and 1 tablespoon of rub on each steak and use your fingers to work it into the meat.

Step 4: Grill steaks on grill rack for approximately 5 minutes. For medium-rare, turn steaks and grill them for 5 minutes on other side. Remove steaks from the BBQ grill and allow them to rest for 5 minutes.

Step 5: Top each ribeye steak with one slice of prepared Whiskey Butter. Slice steaks to create four servings.
